Fishing Report: Lower Big Manistee – July 17, 2024

Summer fishing is in full swing here in northern lower Michigan. I’ve been spending most of my time concentrating on warm water species. Small mouth bass and pike. Primarily fishing on the lower Big Manistee river. Water temp is around 68 degrees. The best bites been in the hottest part of day for me. Using variety of soft plastic, and crank baits. Just like everything some days have been better then others.

I’ve seen a few stray king salmon already and am looking forward to this fall already.
I will be running half day morning trips this August when a fishable amount of salmon show up.
My fall calendar for salmon and steelhead is filling up! If you would like to fish with me this fall id encourage you to book now to ensure you have a spot.
Lots of nice kings are being caught in the lake and I’m very excited and encouraged about the next few months of fishing.
Would love to have you on board for a day of fun!
