Trout Time 2017
- Trout season 2017 in Northern Michigan
It’s trout season in Northern Michigan!
This spring has been off to a cold start with plenty of rain, and the weather is starting to warm up nicely. Things are looking great for fishing resident trout and smallmouth bass on the backwaters of the Pine and Manistee rivers.
I’ve been fishing alot crank baits looking for aggressive, large brown trout. Now is the time, with the water temperatures warming up! There are also lots of opportunities for the fly fishermen right now. Streamers have worked well in the mornings and the bug activity in the evening has been very good. Grey drakes Sulphurs and caddis hatches mostly.
Bass fishing on the river is picking up as well. Crank baits, soft plastic baits and topwater baits have all been producing recently. Now is a great time to get out on the water, the mornings are so beautiful and peaceful.
I have some available dates the next few weeks. Booking a trip is easy! You can book here on the site by using the booking calendar or by contacting me. I also am a regular on Facebook and Instagram, so send me your dates and we can get out there.
Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook or Instagram for updates of what’s happening on the river.
God bless and tight lines,
Chris
