Manistee River Fishing Report, March 19th 2019

The current river flow is 2400 c.f.s and the water temp as of this morning is 34.5 degrees.

Spring is here ! Finally after a long winter! The Manistee river has had a nice push of fresh steelhead over the last week with the river run off and rain we had.  A good mix of winter hold over and silver spring fish are in the river system.  Fish are spread throughout the river, and seem to be in slow ” winter water” still with cold water temps.  I’ve been fishing primarily beads. “Brighter colors with the water color being stained”. Drifting under a float or bobber or traditional bottom bouncing.  Steelhead spawn will also work.  Steelhead buggers, black stonefly patterns and salmonfry minnow patterns also will be affective.  I’m expecting a nice steelhead run. And from what I’ve seen the fish our healthy and big.  Feel free to contact me for booking info or any other questions.
