Fall has arrived here in northern Michigan, and that means fall steelhead on the big Manistee river! We had a pretty good run of King salmon last month and they are making way there spawning areas. I’ve been targeting behind spawning kings and in the runs and pools. Spawn, beads. and flys have all worked well. Colors like Oregon cheese, light salmon roe and orange have all worked. The weather man says to expect a cool wet fall. If that’s correct we should have one heck of fall season for fishing. I have open dates in October and early November give me a call if you’re interested in a fun day on the river!
