November Steelhead Fishing, Manistee River 2018

Its been a great fall so far for steelhead fishing on the Manistee River. Some days have been better then others, but I’ve been putting fish in the boat daily. I’ve been concentrating my efforts on the lower river.

This time of year, you can find pods of steelhead in certain areas.  I’m using a variety of techniques: bottom bouncing spawn or beads, and back dropping bobbers has been very affective. I’ve been casting crank baits in the wood or log jams as well.  The crank bait bite can be very up and down, but when a steelhead bites you’re lure on the retrieve you better be holding on to the rod! We just got a good push of water.

I believe we will be seeing good numbers of steelhead coming in from Lake Michigan the next few weeks.

Don’t let the weather keep you inside! I have a heater and provide a hot lunch to keep my clients comfortable.  Book a trip here.

Lets get out and have some fun!
