Summer Fishing
Northern Michigan summer fishing is here! I’ve been doing a lot of fishing and guiding on the Big Manistee, the Pine River along with Tippy Dam backwaters for trout and small mouth bass. The fishing below Tippy on the Big Manistee river has been very good. Plenty of opportunities for the fly fishermen, with nice dry fly hatches throughout the day. Along with streamers and wet flies. Fishing hard wear, or spinning gear has been great, spinners and small Rapalas have put up some real quality brown trout. So ample opportunities abound.
The bass fishing is really heating up on the lakes. I had some very good luck on top water flies and baits. Small crank baits snd soft plastic baits are working good as well.
I have some availability this month as well as some great dates available for the hex hatch in the next few weeks. The big bugs will be flying soon it’s a great time for a trophy. I do combination bass, hex trout trips which can make for a very fun day. And you can target two different species. If you’d like to see more of our fishing photos and media, check out the All Tackle Fisherman Facebook page! I update pretty regularly there, so follow the page to see all the Northern Michigan summer fishing action.
Good luck and God bless!
