May 2018 Manistee River Fishing Report
Spring has finally sprung in northern Michigan! May 2018 is off to a good start, the fishing has been great!
The unusually cold spring has extended the steelhead run. I expect fishable numbers to be around for the next couple weeks. And with the crowds diminishing, steelhead fishing should still be productive.
Brighter colored beads and flys like buggers and salmonfrys have been affective. Trout fishing has been picking up as well, I’ve been using various crank baits lately targeting larger fish.
Lots of fun.! Its nice to be able to target multiple species! I have some open dates this month, lets go fishing!
