Manistee River Fishing Report – March 29, 2022

Believe it or not it’s officially spring here in northern Michigan!

Steelhead have been making there spring migration into our local rivers. The big Manistee river is running at 2570 cfs and is around 38 degrees.  Really nice conditions for fishing.
I believe the next few weeks should be pretty good for steelhead fishing, especially with some spring rain and warmer temps.
As far as what we been using for the fish, big beads in brighter colors have been working well with the water being stained, along with a assortment of flies like buggers and minnow patterns.

The fish are in a variety of areas. Staging areas around spawning areas seem to be fishing the best for me. I have some availability the next few weeks, love to have you on board this spring!
God bless,
Chris
