June 2018 Summer Fishing is Here

Summer is here in northern Michigan, let’s do some trout fishing!

I love this time of year! Lots of great fishing going on around the area on our local rivers and inland lakes. I’ve been doing a lot of trout fishing on the Big Manistee, Little Manistee and Pine river.

Lots of opportunities for fly fishing and spin casting anglers. Casting crankbaits has been pretty solid and a variety of mayflies have been hatching in the evenings for the fly guys. I have availability if you’re interested in fishing the giant mayfly hatch for trophy brown trout.

Warm water fishing for pike and smallmouth bass has been very good as well on the Big Manistee river and the reservoir. Bass and pike can be a lot of fun for beginner anglers and kids.

Its time to get out and enjoy what we have to offer here in northern Michigan!
