Fishing Report: Big Manistee River – June 30, 2021

Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer so far, I sure have been!

I’ve been concentrating my efforts lately on small mouth bass on the lower Manistee river and it has been a blast. I’ve had very good consistent fishing.  My most recent trips have gone very well.

Lots of opportunities for traditional spin casting and fly fishing anglers. Soft plastics and top water baits have produced some nice ones.
Clouser minnows and various streamers also have been the ticket if you are fly fishing.

We received some much needed rain the last few weeks which put some water in the system. I plan on targeting small mouth and pike until salmon show up in August. Right now would be a good time to start thinking about booking for this fall. Salmon in September and steelhead fishing in October and November fill up fast.
Don’t miss out on the fun!
