Well spring has officially sprung!
We have had unseasonably warm weather the last week or so. Thats really started kicking things on in the river. I’d say we are in the tail end if the spring steelhead season. Most are spawning and making there way back to the lake.
I have decided to start targeting trout now and am going to start running float trips down some of our local streams. With the water warming up the trout are on the bite, looking for a big meal after the winter. With rain and warmer weather this week I think it should get things going on our trout streams.
Once the water starts to drop and clear on the Big Manistee I will start fishing for small mouth and pike. I very much enjoy the next couple months for either trophy browns and bass. Lots of different opportunities and trips to offer if your looking to get out this spring and summer!
