Fishing Report – 9/1/20 – King Salmon on the Big Manistee River
I’ve been concentrating my efforts on king salmon the last few weeks. It’s been a lot of work on the river last few weeks for a few fish a day. I’ve been going daily for the first few hours of light with clients and on my own. That being said they are very healthy and big!
Some days have been good if the timing is right. We need some cooler nights and rain to cool the water temperature down, which is coming next week according to long range forecast. I have open dates the week of 7th which I think will be very good. It’s been mostly crankbait fishing lately. The later this month goes I’ll start fishing more skein. I’m running a few package deals, call me for details – would love to get you on the water!
Pictured above is my good friend and client Steve, he caught his 20 lb king last weekend on a group trip. God bless get out and enjoy what the river can offer.
