Fall 2018 for Manistee River Steelhead Fishing

Fall is here in northern Michigan, and October has not disappointed. It’s been a very exciting salmon season this year with lots of healthy king and coho salmon in the river system. A majority of salmon are starting to spawn through out the river.

I have transitioned my fishing over to target mostly steelhead now, and we have had a nice fresh push of them in the river. Fall steelhead are a true gamefish and are extremely acrobatic and strong.smiling man holding a large silver steelhead with river and fall colors in background smiling boy holding a large silver steelhead with river in background

I’ve had my clients primarily drifting beads or spawn on conventional spinning tackle. And also drifting egg patterns on fly gear.

Its a great time to spend on the river especially with the fall colors turning and chrome fish in the river. I have limited availability this month but do have few open dates. Book now or head over to my Facebook or Instagram and give me a follow.
