October 16 Fishing Report for the Big Manistee River Wellston, Michigan

Fall steelhead are in, and more are on their way!  I have been catching a good mix of skippers and adult fish.  There are still a few salmon migrating in as well.  Steelhead have been sniffing around the kings spawning on gravel, I also have found them in crossover seams throughout the river system.  I have had the best luck using trout beads in as variety of colors.  Glow roe, Oregon cheese and chartreuse have all produced fish.  Spawn also has worked pretty darn well.  With the cooler weather moving in and some much needed rain coming and on the way, I’m very excited to see some more fresh fish on the way!  I only have three days open this month but I do have availability in November, which can be some if the best fishing of the fall.  Give me a call if you’re interested in spending a day on the water!

God bless and tight lines
