Big Manistee River Fishing Report
Big Manistee River Fishing Report – Friday, October 27th, 2017
The fall steelhead season is well underway and let me tell you it has been a month to remember!!!
Lots of big steelhead in the Big Manistee River this year, and good numbers of them! It’s been one of the best fall seasons in ten years I would say. Drifting beads have been the ticket in a variety of colors. We just had a huge amount of rain this week and the water is up. There will be lots of fish around this November.
I recently had the pleasure of fishing with a old friend from school. He brought up 2 of his three boys. Now, I’ve been fishing with clients for 17 years. And I’m here to tell you these kids were simply amazing anglers. More familiar with fishing equipment than a good percentage of adults I’ve fished with. They both landed big, beautiful, adult, dime bright steelhead.
Their first ones ever!
I was so proud if those boys I spent rest of a very busy Saturday on the river bragging to each boat I saw! So many positive sportsmen congratulating those young men. Made my season.
I have days open, let’s get in the water before winter hits. It’s gonna be a great month to fish this November!
God bless,
Chris Martin
